    Business Development Manager – Civil Products


    Due to my clients continuous growth this role will see you selling the companies manufactured range of specialist civil/infrastructure products which in the main are road safety products and Street furniture installation equipment. They provide a very extensive range encompassing Traffic Control, Street Lighting & Highways Equipment. The company pride themselves on selling quality products that are matched by the service and support they offer customers. This is a specification role that focuses on winning specifications with Local Authorities, Highways, Contractors and Design consultants. It is also full cycle so you will follow the project and specification through to Civil Merchants.  The area is Scotland & the North East.


    The company are part of a large group and within that they specialise in the manufacturing and supply of a wide range of infrastructure products. They are very well established and over 25 years have built an excellent reputation in the industry. They have all the Government standard approvals for their products and a vast range of unique selling points.  They stock and offer next day delivery on over 400 standard products. Their products are also available from leading UK builders and civils merchants. They operate from a head office and a 25,000 sq. ft facility that includes a superb showroom where the latest industry products are on display.  Now an international company,  there will be opportunities to work overseas with them. The company offer a 4 week training session on products and the CRM system before you go out to see customers.


    My client is very much a people’s person and the most crucial element for him is having a can do, positive, hungry attitude. You need to be tenacious, enthusiastic, engaging, energetic & organised. You also need to be a bit of a chameleon, able to build rapport with a specifier one minute & a contactor the next.  Although my client is open on construction products sales background  if you have civils experience or product related experience that is only an advantage as long as you possess the characteristics they are looking for. If you have had on site/hands on experience before moving into sales then that is also an advantage. Full training is provided. You also need to be a team player as the team works closely together.
