Are you an experienced Business Development Manager with a background in main contracting? This is an exceptional opportunity to join a thriving construction business specializing in high-value commercial and retail projects across the Southeast.

About the Role

My client is looking for a proven BDM to help drive growth in a business that delivers a full range of construction services, including:

• Commercial refurbishments
• Design and build projects
• Retail fit-outs
• General building works

Working closely with architects, quantity surveyors, and other key stakeholders, you’ll develop a robust pipeline of tenders and secure high-value contracts ranging from £500K to £10 million.

You’ll focus on managing relationships, presenting solutions, and representing the business at a senior level. Projects are sourced through industry platforms, internal teams, and client inquiries, with the successful candidate taking responsibility for driving opportunities through a competitive tender process.

• Proven track record in business development for a main contractor specializing in retail or commercial projects.
• Strong industry knowledge and network, ideally familiar with high-profile firms in the sector.
• Excellent client engagement and negotiation skills.
• Southeast-based, with the ability to attend the Hertfordshire office 2–3 times per month.
