You will be selling the company’s wide range of Plumbing & Heating products & Accessories, including Brass/Copper Valves & Fittings, Plastic Pipes, Plastic Push-Fit, Plumbing Accessories, Taps, Showers, Tools & Consumables. This position is selling into independent plumbers merchants and Buying Groups. Independents are mainly single branches and 2nd line merchants who “wheel & deal”. They want a bargain, they want to negotiate, this will include also UK Plumbing Supplies as their Branch Managers have more autonomy. The Buying Groups are Independents who generally belong to a buying group such as PHG, IPG, Fortis etc. i.e. Hargreaves, Williams, Tucker French, MKM etc. (no price negotiation here as all centralised) Current revenue on the patch is about £1.6m and you will manage approx 100 accounts. You will be tasked with building longstanding relationships, gaining and building trust. The region you will manage is Kent, E&W Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire & South London.

My client is seeking someone with a strong Plumbing / Heating pedigree who is linked to merchants. My most recent placement within this business come from City Plumbing as a Branch Manager and is doing splendid. They will also look at a seasoned & experienced ASM who is selling into plumbers merchants currently. You will be lively and driven, able to build relationships and be able to think on your feet. A large important part of this role is analysing customer spend and identifying where you need to focus within the region.
