    I am recruiting for a leading supplier in the plastics industry, providing high-quality solutions to builders’ merchants and specialists. My client is looking for a dynamic and driven Business Development Manager to join the team and drive growth within the target market.

    The Role

    As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing new accounts and managing existing customer relationships within your designated area. Your role will involve providing training, technical support, and strategic sales development to maximize growth opportunities.

    Key Responsibilities

    βœ” Identify and develop new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing customers.
    βœ” Negotiate trading agreements, discounts, and terms while ensuring company margin requirements.
    βœ” Communicate and justify pricing or promotional changes for approval.
    βœ” Maximize sales potential across the product portfolio.
    βœ” Implement training programs for customer staff.
    βœ” Ensure all product literature and price lists are up to date and readily available.
    βœ” Target National / Independent Builders Merchants and Buying Group Members
    βœ” Handle customer complaints and liaise with technical departments for resolution.
    βœ” Attend exhibitions and training sessions as required.
    βœ” Maintain CRM systems and provide regular activity and expense reports.
    βœ” Take responsibility for company equipment, including vehicles and mobile phones.

    What We’re Looking For

    πŸ”Ή Proven experience in business development or sales, preferably in the plastics, building products or construction industry.

    πŸ”Ή Experience targeting the Merchant sector

    πŸ”ΉStrong negotiation and relationship-building skills.

    πŸ”Ή Ability to work independently and manage a designated territory effectively.
    πŸ”Ή Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    πŸ”Ή A proactive and results-driven approach to sales.
    πŸ”Ή Proficiency in CRM systems and reporting.
