    🔹 Overview

    A market-leading manufacturer within the drainage sector is seeking an experienced National Sales Manager to lead their UK external sales function. This is a senior role and you will have full responsibility for national revenue growth, team leadership, and key account management across the UK.

    🧭 The Role

    The successful candidate will lead a team of  Area Sales Managers across the UK. The remit includes both direct line management and strategic leadership—driving commercial performance and market development across multiple sectors.

    You’ll play a pivotal role in managing high-value relationships with national contractors and major merchants. Projects span car parks, airports, stadiums, and public infrastructure—often with specification influence at the consultant/engineer level.

    🎯 Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute multi-year sales strategies aligned with commercial targets.

    • Direct and coach the external sales team to achieve revenue, margin, and market growth goals.

    • Manage and grow key national accounts across contractor, engineering, and merchant channels.

    • Analyse sales data to forecast performance, adjust strategies

    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing and Operations to optimise sales tools and customer journey.

    • Represent the business at industry events, trade shows, and key stakeholder meetings.

    • Ensure all commercial activities are compliant with internal standards and regulatory requirements.

    🧱 Ideal Candidate Profile

    • Minimum 3 years in a senior sales leadership role, ideally within civils or heavyside building materials.

    • Strong people management skills—motivating teams to consistently exceed targets.

    • Excellent knowledge within the contractor, and specification channels.

    • Proven commercial track record with major project sales and key account responsibility.

    • Confident in strategic planning, performance analysis, and cross-departmental collaboration.

    • Hands-on, lead-from-the-front style with the gravitas to engage at boardroom and site level.
