Our client is seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to drive growth across their range of pre-cast concrete products.
The company has 2 vacant / open positions. Number 1 is the South West / South Wales region including Gloucestershire, the 2nd vacancy is London / South East which includes Herts, Bucks, Kent, Surrey and Hampshire.
You will be responsible for managing key accounts, developing new business, and promoting a comprehensive product portfolio including concrete pipes, manhole rings, cover slabs, watertight rings, gullies, retaining walls, cattle slats, cubicle beds, seating slabs and bespoke precast solutions.
This is a high-value, project-led sales role, dealing with order values ranging from £20k to £500k.
Manage and grow relationships with Main Contractors (e.g. Skanska, Balfour Beatty, Torsion Group).
Develop business with Sub-Contractors, Groundworkers, Local Authorities, and Developers.
Back-sell through National and Independent Builders’ Merchants (e.g. Travis Perkins, Huws Gray, Keyline, EH Smith) and Buying Groups (NBG, Fortis).
Identify and secure new project opportunities from tender stage through to order.
Manage existing accounts while targeting new business growth.
Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery, with 80% of orders supplied direct from plant to site.
Track projects, forecast pipeline, and maintain CRM accuracy.
You will be a proven sales person with experience in construction or civils sales, ideally precast concrete, drainage, or heavy building materials.
Comfortable selling into Tier 1 contractors and large infrastructure projects.
Strong project and account management skills.
Commercially astute, able to manage high-value orders and long sales cycles.
Self-motivated, organised, and confident operating autonomously in the field.
