Passive Fire Protection | Intumescent Products | Fire Stopping | Commercial Construction
Are you an experienced Technical Sales Manager with a background in passive fire protection, fire stopping or intumescent products?
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading manufacturer of high-performance fire protection solutions, taking responsibility for an established territory with a strong existing customer base and significant potential for further growth.
You’ll be selling a comprehensive range of passive and intumescent fire protection products, working predominantly with specialist fire protection contractors on major commercial projects including data centres, hospitals, schools and other high-value developments.
This is a genuine solution-led technical sales role where product performance, compliance, technical knowledge and relationships matter.
Around 80% of your time will be spent working with specialist fire protection contractors, developing existing relationships, identifying new projects and helping customers select the right fire protection solutions.
You’ll also work with architects, distributors and other construction professionals, delivering technical presentations and occasional CPDs and supporting projects from specification through to order.
These are premium, technically led products, so this isn’t about winning business by being the cheapest. You’ll need to understand your customers, communicate the technical advantages of the product range and sell on performance, compliance, value, features and benefits.
Importantly, you’ll inherit an established territory with existing customers and relationships – this is not a cold-start business development role.
We’re particularly interested in candidates who already understand the passive fire protection market and can demonstrate sales experience with products such as:
You’ll ideally already have relationships with specialist fire protection contractors and understand how fire protection products are specified, selected and sold on construction projects.
You don’t need to be an engineer or the most technical person in the room. You do need enough technical understanding to have credible conversations around product performance, specifications, building regulations and fire requirements – and the commercial ability to turn those conversations into business.
You’ll be a commercially astute, organised and motivated technical salesperson who enjoys building long-term customer relationships.
You’ll be confident presenting technical solutions, comfortable dealing with subcontractors and capable of managing multiple projects and opportunities across your territory.
Just as importantly, you’ll be a team player. The culture is collaborative, with salespeople, technical specialists and product experts working together to win and deliver projects. This won’t suit an overly aggressive or maverick salesperson who prefers to operate alone.
In return, you’ll have the opportunity to represent a high-quality fire protection portfolio, inherit established accounts and develop your territory within a business that can provide strong technical and specialist support.
If you know the passive fire protection market, understand specialist fire protection contractors and want a technical sales role where you can sell on quality, performance and value rather than price alone, this could be an excellent next move.
